Very, very oxidative, but not oxidized. Medium amber/tawny color. Waxy, woolly, gripping and totally cool, but for the hardcore Chenin/Savennières fan only.

Pale tawny color. Waxy nose with caramel and fig on the entry and a long note of marzipan/almond extract that grew into the haunting finish. An exceptional experience in aged white wine.

Clear bright gold. Caramel, apricot, honey and some mineral. Very dry entry not at all like the richness the nose gives. Textbook Savennieres. Very light finish. Delicious aged loire. At it's peak or on the downhill but just great IMHO.

Bill's Monthly Lunch - October 2012 (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – medium gold colour with interesting nose of honey, soft lemon and hints of caramel. On the palate it’s dry with a bit of a waxy mouthfeel with nice acidity and solid length. Really nice and drinking perfectly right now. Excellent.
