Family weekend tasting; 11/13/2021-11/14/2021 (Egmond): Always a fan of the Beaumard Clos the Papillon, but the Closel did not disappoint either. It felt as as a ripe vintage given the lower than expected acidity (and given the 14,5% abv which was not very noticeable), but typical CB and Savennieres, lovely. Deep golden in color (a bit more golden than I expected for its age). Oxidative on the nose, honey, a bit of sherry, flowers, tropical fruits. On the palate, creamy, butter, almost Meursault like, but more complex. Long finish, medium+ acidity

Loire bocht. Chenin blanc druif met hoge zuure vergelijkbaar met riesling zeer goed houdbaar. Ondergewaardeerd. Indrukwekkende, minerale finale. .

Smells like celery. In a good way. And fresh open water smells. And cream like a meursault. And tastes like an amazing meursault on the palate at that. Incredibly delicious.

Darn. You can smell it from across the room. Waxy honey funk but clean.
