nose -strawberry, candied fruit mouth - very fresh, and very pure. this wine is very much about the fruit, but I agree with others that it is lacking in complexity. needs more time or needs more stems? yet great fruit purity.

Impressive. Bright red cherry color. Fantastic nose of red cherry, violets, and cherry stones. In the mouth, vibrant and expansive, with a gorgeous swath of pure red cherry fruit leading the way. Wonderfully concentrated and asserting boldly the paradoxical masculine-feminine power and elegance simultaneously that you find in great Burgundy. Plenty of floral and earth notes, along with bright acidity. Long, juicy finish that lingers. This is an absolute keeper. A

Perfect dark color. Very perfumed nose not unlike a Dujac with scents of blueberry and cherry cream. Needed lots of time to open up but then became a gorgeous and refined Burgundy with cool but ripe blueberry and violet fruit. Finishes quite complex with a finely concentrated finish and notes of bluberry liquor and black minerals. Balanced, nuanced and spicy, this RSV should be drinking beautifully in about 5 to 7 years. 93+

Three generations of Cathiard (La Trompette, Chiswick, London): Ripe, almost a touch of jam, but there's plenty of grip and substance that this is no more than an incidental feature of a gorgeous, grand, flesh wine
