One of the best Cathiard wines tried to date. Wonderful aromatic nose with ripe dark red fruit, lots of VR spices and some floral elements. Breathed in bottle for 2 hours and palate became very approachable, open and layered. Pure fruited, supple and very long. 2001 version of this wine is more like a napa now and the 2000 version is quintessential RSV.

Black fruit, menthol, spices, violets and caramel on the nose. The palate had the red fruit sweetness that had both the length and depth. I thought this was a richebourg as the black fruit on the nose while the weight and intensity were so high. The sweetness of the red fruit was well expressed. Strong hand wine making style in a weak vintage resulted in a beautifully crafted and ready to drink cathiard rsv. Amazing!

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Nose here is riper, softer, more advanced but not oxidative, but clearly with some overripe more strawberry marmalade, deducted some points for this feature
