Herb-flecked black and red cherry fruit balanced by earthy notes. Faint cranberry and strawberry emerge on the velvet finish. Nicely balanced between fruit, acidity, and terroir. Tannin mostly integrated, this wine is in a good spot, drinking well with a recommended short decant. No hurry though, drink through 2030.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of deep ruby with wide garnet rim and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of red fruit of raspberry and sour cherries, mineral notes of earth, sweet spice of clove, floral notes of violet, herbal notes of Chinese medicine, maturity notes of gamey. The wine is fully developed. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of dusty texture, medium alcohol and medium (-) body, medium intensity flavors of red fruit of cherry, plum and raspberry, violet notes of violet, herbal notes of Chinese medicine. The wine has a medium finish. Conclusion: Good quality Beaujolais Moulin-a-Vent with an intense nose showing good complexity, with a weakening red fruit but a nice combination of earthy and herbal notes, hints of gamey characters. The palate is balanced, with decent acidity, lively, and a dusty tannin on a fairly light body with similar flavour profile and a reasonable length on the finish. It is ready to drink now and not meant for further ageing.

Aromas that reminded of Rhône. Became more floral when poured into in a big Burgundy glass. Still quite fresh and juicy, with plenty of tannins. Not the most elegant Beaujolais, but certainly a stayer.

Not sure what to make of this wine. Enjoyed over two days and it hardly budged during that time. The wine was all rock and mineral and there was barely any fruit to be found. Oh, there was some fine tannin as well. Tasted better with food on day two. Holding my last bottle at least a few more years to see if something emerges.
