One year ago since I had this. I had the Moulin-a-vent 2017 a couple of times this month, and I wanted to finish of with the cru.
More or less the same notes from last year. I actually had this bottle in june, but it just isn't the same drinking this one, at summer time. It has to be November. For me, November is Beaujolais month.
I do want add a couple of notes for this year. The nose is even more complex than last year with aromas of smoked meat and dry forest. The palate is dark but sweet fruit. More riper than last year. There is an overall note of very pleasant licorice.
Still amazing, getting better and can't wait for next november, for the next bottle.

Dark and dense color. Aromas of butter and caramel, and some oxidation and volatile acids. Not an optimal bottle.

Medium ruby color. Intense aromas of dark berries, forest floor and smoked bacon. Wine is fresh with medium + acidity with bitterness in aftertaste.

Medium+ bodied
Medium tannin
Decanted for 2 hours
Nose:
Smoke, oak, chocolate, raspberry, cherry, blackberry, green leaves.
Palate:
Blackberry, cherry, chocolate, oak, leaves and actually a slightly note of marzipan.
The acidity is kind of the same that you get from cherry.
This is more dark fruited than Pinot.
It's amazing to drink this beauty, at this time of the year, just right before christmas!
Drink this 12 years from now. Only gets better!
