Excellent traditional cornas - a true land wine. Needs an hour in the decanter growing in weight and stature with air. Classic olives, smoke, garrigue and later on licorice. Excellent structure and years to go, but nice now. Superb expression of Northern Rhone terroir.
Farewell, Peter (New Rochelle, NY): A lovely wine that impresses with its sneaky depth. Seems so elegant on the palate that you forget the layers of flavors that unfold on the palate and linger (and linger). Stoney, mineraly and contemplative wine.
A fantastic classic Cornas. Such a wonderful aroma with vivid woodsmoke and meaty scents, and layers of sauvage bloody, meaty and leathery flavours around a core of rich red and dark fruited flavours on the palate. It's perfectly mature, seamless and drinking wonderfully right now with such power, vibrancy and energy on a medium weight frame. The balance and length here are fantastic, and I wish I owned more of this wine.
