My first bottle of this cuvee and I wish I had purchased more! Opened but not decanted for over 45 minutes before pouring, as part of a Syrah night with my wine group at a NYC Steakhouse. Smokey, with notes of pepper, medium+ body, long finish. A group favorite.

This Cornas needed at least an hour to open up in a big decanter. The bouquet is quite rich and deceived me into believing this wine would rather be a Châteauneuf du Pape than a Cornas. Maybe the darker fruit aromas of blackberries and some plums lead to this conclusion. The tannins are still quite challenging and require at least 5 more years to fully mature. Will be interesting to follow.

Two Rhônes Diverged in a Wood.... ("Chateau La Grange" - La Grange IL): Double(ish) blind in Northern Rhône flight. Rich and very dense. Very fresh throughout, clearly on the young-ish side for this flight. So much depth here with meaty character, made me think this 2011/ 2012 Hermitage. Third time I've had wonderful 2106, and all three have been consistent. My 5th fav (of 10) in the flight, group's #2.

Decanted 4 hours. Funky and smoky. Very well made. Superb with bbq meats and blue cheese.

Pungent Syrah nose. Old vine sap with beautiful framing acidity. A lot of everything here- excited to see where it goes.
