  The 2011 (L CP 11-01-09) was tasted alongside the 2009 (L MCP 0903). Both wines were decanted and served immediately, both were wonderful, silky, luxurious, and understated. Both show hints of barnyard, smooth bittersweet cherries and wild strawberries.
  
  The 2011 is slightly lighter in weight, with just enough acid and tannin structure to accompany dinner, and a more mineral finish. Drink to 2027. 92.
  
  The 2009 is a bit “more” in every way: slightly bigger, a bit sweeter, a bit more acid and tannin structure, and slightly spicier. Drink to 2029. 94.

  Beautiful delicate bosky fruit on the nose. Fraises des bois, sour cherry compote and soft herbal note on the palate. Acid has softened as well as the tannins. Fine length. Gorgeous bottle. Yum!

  Nose of strawberries and raspberries with floral notes and funky barnyard aromatics. Cherry and cranberry layers flow over damp earth and tea leaves followed by light but prominent tannins that feather the tongue, adding fleshy red fruit and minerals as the acidity flows over wet river stones. A graceful and thoughtful Beaujoulais.

  Sometime you open a wine at just the right time...I'm usually a bit skeptical of aging gamay as it just doesn't seem to get better or more interesting...but as always with wine, being proven wrong is half the fun. Nose on this is intoxicating, tons of spices, red fruits on the palate with some earth, rounded finish with lots of acid, nice slightly slippery texture. Great stuff. Pop n pour out of glasvin prestige.
