  • Perfumed and thoroughly bloody with an animalistic edge on the nose. Tangy blackberry fruit dominates but there are also notes of licorice, black pepper and herbs. On the palate it is quite large-scaled with full, dense body, notable tannins and dark fruit that is on the sweet side. It is a fleshy, muscular wine with a savory edge to it and good acidity that provides some freshness. Oak raises its head a bit and this is definitely not the most old school wine stylistically but I don’t mind drinking it at all.

  • Initial heavy barnyard funk blew off quickly with only a faint trace lingering....smell is meaty ...stewed plums.......color is a brooding deep red.....medium body.... Taste is interestingly different than many syrahs...oaky...woody...tartish licorice berry....somewhat acidic...
Not lush more lean with acidic feel....good fruit...somewhat disjointed
And I usually don't say that....I would say interesting wine, glad I had it, but not sure I want more....let's see what it is like on day 2

  • Vin plaisant, sans chaleur alcooleuse.
Nez puissant bouche discrete, longueur moyenne.
