Drinking beautifully. This mature Bonne's Mares is on point, with fresh strawberry aromas and palate, still plenty of earthy backbone, and enough acidity to hold together. Improved with time after opening, so good bottles should still have legs.

Dark burgundy with some translucence and browning at edges, some sediments. Nose black fruit, some earth, some lifted notes. Palate seamless length, dark fruited with nice complexity. Stony, some earth.
Shows its class as a grand cru, and still young I think, or just hitting its stride, IMO. 94 pts

This really needs an hour in a decanter. There are strong burnt rubber aromas at first, and the wine is tight, with a rough edge. It then becomes smooth with cherry cola and candy, but its hillbilly roots show with a hint of that burnt rubber on the finish. Not bad overall.

(Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares) Dark cherry red color with pale meniscus; rich, tart cherry nose; tasty, tart cherry, with minerals, horehound, depth, focus and acidity; long finish

Ripe and candied with darkish red fruit spectrum. For me, it tasted more 03 than 97. Enjoyable.

It was good, but not remarkable. Did not taste of the pedigree. Maybe the vintage? IDK.
