Bienvenue a Champagne; 4/20/2023-4/29/2023 (Les Crayeres, various restaurants, Les Avises and a many wonderful producers): Great to get to see this wine with a bit more age as well and very kind of Frederic to share. This was before his time and while I’m not sure you see a major difference it does feel like they could have a slight shift in style. Still, this is quite enjoyable. I like the extra age. 6.5 dosage. It’s still drinking on the younger side and quite nice. Disgorged in 2015.

Rich toasted bread. Very dry and precise. It’s a style that’s more in line with the Blanc de blancs, not opulently of fruit. But it’s also brilliant, nervy and DGAF about other roses. Intensely precise but not expansive

Brought back from Ruinart when we visited in the summer .. nice bottle. Notes or strawberry and rhubarb .. nice bubbles still … subtle but still nice. Quite enjoyed and would buy again

Excellent; will no doubt continue to be outstanding for several years to come but spectacular now. Very delicate and subtle but with more than adequate fruit and acidity. I loved it.

Seventeenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Apple, lemon, lemon curd with a faint burst of berries. A great powerhouse while also finessed, bright and elegant. Superb length.
