  • Last bottle. Drank over 2 days, much better the more time it was open. Still noticeably high octane, high extraction, jammy red fruits, spice, vanilla, great acid, lush and full in mouth, long finish. More pronounced tannins showing after day 1 which leads me to think this has several more years left if stored well; but it’s drinking great right now. Beware - big bold style, but that’s the Aussie way.

  • Medium ruby red. Complex nose with olives, tar, anise, roses and red berries. Medium tannins (5.5/10) with well balanced acidity and medium plus bodied. Rhubarb on the palate with spices, graphite and rose hips. Long finish. Drink till 2024.

  • The wine is purple and moves more towards garnet near the rim. Staining is medium and treating is heavy. The wine is powerful and developing on the nose with jammy raspberries, blackberries, vanilla, clove and black licorice. The palate is more powerful than the nose with tart cherries, ripe blackberries, stewed cranberries, violets and rich vanilla and dill notes that suggest new American oak. This wine is high in tanning, medium plus acidity, high alcohol (is this port?), the body is full, the texture is round, the finish is medium plus (dominated by red berries), and the complexity is medium plus. The wine is drinking beautiful. 5+13+17+8=93

  • 15.9% abv. Clear dark ruby color. Viscous in glass. Typical floral, spice, mineral and red berry Grenache nose but also shows off the additional extraction with raisins, prune, and some heat. Med++ weight in mouth. Silky mouthfeel, tannins settling in nicely. This is a big, bold high octane wine. Some layers and complexity but hard to get past the raisiny/pruney fruit profile. Probably has 3-5 yrs left, but wouldn’t wait that long.

  • We had only two glasses on day 1 but it wasn't quite ready and not a good match for the rather spicy food. Decided to drink it the next evening. On day 2 it was very good. Full-bodied with smooth tannins, high concentration and aroma intensity. Lots of dark berries, dark chocolate and eucalyptus. Quite enjoyable if you like full power wines but a tad too extracted for me.
