In the decanter 45 mins prior to drinking. Needed that time to burn off initial tartness. A big boy, 16.3%. Big upfront fruits and spice, little chocolate, and super yummy. Smashable. Time open however the fruit slightly drops and so does the balance and its charm. Like all higher alcohol wines I prefer to drink younger whilst the fruit is still there. I’ll drink my last bottle over the next year or so.

Tried in a vertical tasting of Noon Eclipse 2013-2018 with friends. The 2018 was nearly everyone's favourite or second favourite vintage, and best of the six tasted in my opinion. Ripe fruit with bright acidity, a touch aggressive on opening but really good after a decant.

Ripe red fruits, earthy ginger, toasted star anise and cumin, cedar and seasoned leather bouquet. Deep and complex, ever evolving in the wine glass. Palate is rich, intense and persistence. Amazing length and balance for this medium-bodied Grenache blend. Supple and polished structure. Seamless transitions from entry to finish which lasted 40 seconds long. Decanting this for at least 2 hours for elements to harmonise and open up. Aging this for another 3 years would yield even better finesse and sophistication. 93-95 pts.

Ripe, slightly jammy red berry fruit of strawberry and raspberry, slightly peppery, some Asian spice. Intense and fruit forward palate, Lots of pleasure to drink with reasonable complexity.
