While the palate shows excellent richness and energy, the acidity creates an elegant harmony. The wine is flavourful and punchy. Drinking at peak if you enjoy white wine with good acidity. It drinks like a very good mature Montrachet. 95-96

an outstanding bottle, rich but elegant, pure and fresh, next to the 1997 this was really another caliber, felt younger, the nose it really lovely with hints of flowers, really this is a great example of top white bordeaux

A private dinner (Restaurant Bak, Amsterdam, NL): Rich but youthful colour; fresh and youthful nose, seems to need even more time, the Sauvignon and the oak dominate a bit initially, shows some honeyed development with oxygen and comes together in the glass quickly, after two hours in the decanter mandarin and caramel notes emerge; the palate is rounded, honeyed, lemon curd, ripe but fresh, seamless and silky, with moderate oak tannins, salted butter and a slight vegetal note, wonderful kick of acidity; complete finish, long and fresh.
