Light yellow colour. Muted nose of cashews. Restrained, tight, lemony palate, stripped down chablis style. Mineral wet stone finish. Not what I'm looking for in a chardonnay (grapefruit and more grapefruit, I hate grapefruit). I just don't get it. I remember the Miramar mudgee chardonnay '88 - the polar opposite of this. Nice with freshly chucked oysters I suppose but still I'd take a SSB over this.

Creamy nose, citrussy with a little butterscotch note. Really lovely poise, nice balance between the sweet fruit and the crisp citrus acidity that runs alongside it. Little bit of spice and a long round oats and caramel filled finish.

Nose a bit too spicy (oak.) Good lime flavours. Benchmark chardonnay.
