(Bosquet CdP) Chateauneuf-du-Pape Dear Friends, If you are looking for a Chateauneuf-du-Pape bargain, this wine reflects a style that has become nearly extinct - one of elegance over impact. As with most examples by Bosquet des Papes, this continues to get better with bottle age and it now represents an excellent bargain. I’ve always been a fan of this style as it is true to its sense of origin without the burden of proving anything to anyone. Maybe this is why Jacques Reynaud thought this winery represented Chateauneuf-du-Pape’s most reasonably priced expression - high praise indeed. This is a classic case of the European palate versus the New World enthusiast and don’t let the medium body fool you - this wine can age for decades with grace and presence - it’s just not going to beat you over the head with extract and new wood. It is not a rough and tumble version of Chateauneuf, rather it is satiny and elegant with a velveteen, kirsch-dipped ball of Grenache waiting to unfold. At $35, it’s a good buy, at this price it’s one of the CdP bargains of the year: Take advantage of the 89pts - the wine is now $10/bottle less than it was a few months ago and it’s going to age in the same way if it received a 90. With the new-world order of a weak dollar, and Cotes du Rhone pushing $18 - enough said. ONE SHIPMENT ONLY - VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a style that has been lost on the young guns but what goes around comes around... This parcel has perfect provenance directly from the source: 2004 Bosquet des Papes Chateauneuf-du-Pape (cuvee traditionnelle) FIRST COME FIRST SERVED at this price up to 6/person until we run out Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Rhone7280
