Pnp; COVID is making it a bit harder to tell but I really like the candied cherry and vaguely dark chocolate nose. Palate is rich and heavy but it doesn’t cross the line and the alcohol is well-integrated. Baking spices, dried fruits, cocoa powder; basically a (good!) fruitcake in a glass. Interested to see how it evolves by tomorrow.
Update: after 5 (!) nights in the fridge it is still good. My sense of smell is coming back now and I get a lot of spice and marshmallow with a faint mintiness and berries in the background. Reminds me more of whiskey than wine. Palate is smooth, not quite as rich or heavy as it was when I first opened it, but the notes are the same.
This obviously has plenty of life left.

2017 Friends & Family; 9/20/2017-9/23/2017 (Portugal): Dark purple in color. There were some really interesting herbal and Asian spice notes on the nose. Wonderful dark fruit notes of boysenberry and black plum on the palate. The very long finish showed great balance.

2016 Port Harvest Tour; 9/18/2016-9/25/2016 (Portugal): Dark ruby in color. Violets and dart fruit on the nose. Raspberry and some chocolate notes on the nose as well. Slight herbal notes hiding under some cassis and blueberry on the palate. Long finish.

his bottle was chosen to accompany a nice Serra da Estrela Cheese. Dark ruby colour, with only a slight rusty bricking. Very opulent nose, with a touch of typical Taylor heat, rock rose and dark fruit. Tastes powerful, young and dark. With black cherries, black currant and a massive licorice finish. Medium dry. It seems to be power over fruit at this stage, but at the same time the port is very accessible. At this young age this port is drinking much easier than e.g. 1991 and 1987, it seems to be very much in line with my note on the 1995 last year.

Deep red, soft, round rich and very easy but no grip and very little complexity. Completely inoffensive but just dull and lightweight to be honest.
