My Birthday Dinner (Grill Room, Hong Kong Country Club, Shouson Hill, Hong Kong): Briefly decanted. Very tawny dilute and transparent. Nose is beautifully nutty, fresh pistachios, shoe leather, quite spirity. Palate is still surprisingly high in alcohol, some heat, fresh dates and prunes on the back end. Mellows a lot with time in the glass. Fully mature but intact. Thanks, Jeremy!

In a good place: balanced mature Port wine well suited to the celebation. Holding up nicely this morning.
Good to go but no rush. I expect it will see at least another decade to celebrate in style.

So much toffee and mild caramel. Rather mellow and very well integrated. Very smooth and enjoyable but also complex. The best Port I have had by now.

FTLOP 11th Anniversary; 7/22/2016-7/24/2016 (Sammamish, Washington): Bottled 1969 by Berry Brothers & Rudd, London. Amber brown in color. Mahogany and cocoa powder on the nose. Mocha notes on the full palate with a long, structured finish.

So with a week since opening and sampling for the first time, we have monitored this almost daily.
The wine has taken a touch of a tawny character, expected given the oxidation effect, but still maintaones the red ruby character. Has mellowed on the "spiritness" but hasnt really improved as a wine. Still shows no signs of collapsing.
