No doubt past its peak, but a quality wine nonetheless. Acidity is still present, not overly rich, but mature dried fruit character and a great complement and finish to a Christmas dinner.

Dark gold-copper color with aromas of honey, dried apricot and caramel.
Sweetened agrume and ananas flavors on the palate as the fruit, acidity and congenial bit of tartness combine in marvelous balance.
Remarkable viscosity with an extended finish.
A truly mature Sauternes passing it's peak but still lovely. Drink up!

Overshadowed by the 1983 Rieussec that preceded it, but nevertheless it is a top notch Sauternes. Honey, caramel, and peach dominate the nose and palate, without being over sweet and cloying.

Over chill it in the fridge, and become icy. After a couple of bottles, the icy sauternes refreshes the palate. Cant smell much but on the palate, honey, almond, peach. Very sweet as usual.
