Not a detailed note, but this has lovely red and black fruit, flowers, and earth in a beautifully balanced and integrated wine, smooth tannins, medium to high acids with a lovely brightness, low alcohol (13%), long finish. Went beautifully with five-spice duck from the local Asian supermarket.

Medium garnet. Pronounced melange of roses, earth, manure, red berries, baking spice, with a hint of mocha. Warm red and black currant fruit on the palate with a generous aromatic acid underpinning, light to medium tannins, medium body, low alcohol. A nice touch of oak on the sweet long finish.

A glorious Chinon early in its window, everything I love in Cab Franc is in here. Damp tobacco, roasted red peppers, black pepper, mulch, and lovely sweet currant fruit. Buttressed by tart cranberry acidity and sour cherry, this is the total package for me. I've been enjoying a lot of expensive bottles recently and this modest $25 bottle easily stands alongside them all.

On the nose a complex mix of red fruit, black pepper, mushroom, and roses. On the palate, a modulated progression from dark dry salty fruit at the front to an aromatic back note of oak, anise, and lilacs, underpinned by strong smooth tannins
