Wonderful Chinon acting older than its years. Nose dominated by complex leather, moist soil and minerals with the red fruit taking a back seat. Nice palate, with raspberry and fruit more obvious than on the nose. Bracing acidity makes this beg for food. A beautiful wine that seems (IMHO) to be at its peak. With the celestial rise of Bordeaux prices, this inexpensive, well-made, complex, charming and fast-maturing Cabernet Franc from the Loire Valley should be on everyone's short list.

High toned nose of red fruits, a real earthy, decaying leaf sort of note, and definate leather/gaminess. On the palate, this is a bit austere with more red fruits, raspberries and currants, all supported by a strong underlying layer of fresh herbs and serious structure. This was a pretty charming bottle, and will make me seek out more from this producer.

Not much pleasure. Officially now the one wine I won't buy again from Joguet.

pale garnet. Nose was dried herb city. Taste was an aged French red wine with dried herbs. It grew on me.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #038; Loire red wines. (By WG): A little barnyard, oakand tobacco in the bouquet. A lot of spiciness and acidity. Juicy and good bitterness. A wine with some elegance.
