Winebow Trade Tasting (Palomar Hotel): Beautiful wine that spends 10 months in 4 to 5 year old oak barrels. Incredibly racy nose of spice, earth, and red berries. Thought this had polish and depth...will be quite a gem in a couple years.

Nose of sweet ripe red cherries and redcurrants. Some light background notes of vanilla. Palate shows ripe, round redcurrants. Tannins present but round. Very good. Note: 4th & 5th fill barriques for malo and a further 6 months.

Garnet coloured. Medium bodied. Aromatic. Quite funky with a barnyard like note that's not too strong backed up by some dark fruits. Very nice.

Still takes some time for SO2 to blow off, but good snappy acidity and great on the table.

A bit acidic and oaky. It did get better with time open. Too much like a Bordeaux.
