  • This was delicious and at 10 years was really still very primary and fresh; ripe red berry fruits, a hint of black tea, baking spice, and floral notes. Great balance on the palate and simply delicious. Will easily age another decade in good storage.

  • Very tasty; ruby in color with a concentrated nose of rich red berry fruits, spice, and forest floor. The palate is nicely balanced with the ripeness of the vintage giving good depth and power. Should easily hit its 15th birthday in style, sadly most of mine seem to be disappearing well before that...

  • Pale ruby wine, aromas of stewed cherries, cinnamon, earth and mushroom.
Moderate intensity, low tannins, higher acidity, light body.

This wine is past its prime and the fruit is fading quickly. Still good but drink now.

  • This initially had a bit of a funk on opening, seemed almost reduced, but that would be odd at this age. Seemed to open nicely through the evening, but wasn't quite as good as the other bottles. Will hold this overnight and see if it improves.

Much improved tonight; the nose is much more in line with prior bottles. I guess if you open a bottle with a bit of funk, worth decanting for a few hours or holding for a night as this is delicious.

  • Lighter in color than the 2012 OV drunk last night, more lifted aromas but initially this is equally closed and monochromatic at this stage. Even after many hours of air, I'm not getting the sense that this has the layers of the OV in this vintage.
On day 2 this is greatly improved, the fruit is now showing as a delicious, sexy ripe red with a silky texture.
On day 3: OMG this is wonderful, with such beautiful texture. Ripe, but an absolute delight.
Hold for at least 5 years before revisiting.
