  • Provning för Paliro (Palrio, Kungsgatan): Golden yellow colour with a mature nose showing butter, cream and dried fruit and opens up with dark chocolate and plums in a pleasant way. Pleasant intense red apples acidity on the mature palate with a minerals saltiness on the lips. Delicious!
    (Best 1998-2023)

  • (Disgorged in 1990, 62% Pinot Noir from, 5% Meunier and 33% Chardonnay)
Deep golden yellow colour with a mature nose showing dark chocolate, honey and citrus minerality at first. With time in the glass it opens up with lovely spring flowers and some fresh cut grass in a delicious way. Lovely intensity with yellow plums acidity on the palate with a very lengthy finish showing a nice bitterness giving a nice structure. This is still showing well, but is ready to drink up now.

  • Really interesting, as Eitikm wrote in 2014, there was a “puff” as the cork released from the bottle. As I poured it into the glass, a single but very fine bead rose from the base of the flute. Deep straw in color yet it sparkled in the light.
Buttery yet crisp, very nutty but a hint of fresh baked bread, doesn’t make sense but it’s there on the nose.
Very fat and round on the pallet, a creamy nutty flavour fills the mouth but allows a very hint of acid on the back of the tongue before giving way to the fatness of the caramel that seems to be the trademark of this vintage. You wonder if Churchill would have liked this style or is it over the hill? I could only drink a single glass of it before passing onto the next wine.

  • Bought at auction several months back. The wine still had a very faint bead and acids were present. Very developed, beeswax, caramel and nuts. It was interesting to taste, but not much of a fun drink. Past its prime, but still alive.

  • totally impressed, almonds, mild hazelnuts, some butter - really not that much, some yellow fruits..
acidic and dry - typical veuve clicquot! - still fresh, zingy and zesty!
(I expected a ripe and still wine..)
