Decanted for about 3h. Lovely, deep and complex, nose with white fruit, green apples, a tiny bit of tropical fruit, good intensity, and a bit of flint. Nice acidity with good structure (feels almost slightly tannic), citrus notes, green apples, and crushed rocks. Long finish. Really excellent wine with a long future ahead.

A Wow wine. Based on older notes on CT, this has really come into its own. Beautifully full flavored but not too dense on massive. No signs of premox. Glorious in the mouth with complexity but not heaviness. Just a tightrope walk across your mouth. This was a Monty that lived up to its name.

Winter Solstice Tasting @ JD's home (Groot-Ammers): Winter Solstice tasting. A big wine, a bold nose. Not sure where Louis Jadot get's the Montrachet grapes from, but they do a fine job expressing the terroir. Very broad.

Winter Solstice Tasting (Jan-Dirk Taams' residence, Groot-Ammers, Netherlands): Initially closed and slightly meaty on the nose, matchstick; a lovely marriage of power and elegance, perfectly integrated oak, relatively masculine style, quite broad and powerful, ripe citrus, firm acidity; broad finish, very good length.
