  • A bit shutdown, perhaps, but plenty of potential. Reticent fruit on the note with a streak of stony minerality poking through. Fantastic weight and texture on the palate, with some grippy tannins adding a bit of substance. There's a bit of an herbal/stemmy/green note, but I didn't find it detracting. Will probably wait another 5 years before my next check-in, but I like where this is headed.

  • maturing red color with paling rim, quite shut down on the nose with only the barest hints of floral and cherry notes, on the palate also quite closed with sensations of a mid-weight fruit with good tension, good length, Clos Saint Denis can be terribly difficult to evaluate once it closes down- but at this point I would say this should be a good example in time if not a great one. Either way, at this point it is best to wait at least 5 years.

  • Red fruit on nose. Strawberries. Mouth a little square and rough. But overall good wine.
