Exceptional wine, especially at this price. Rich dark cherry fruit. Old world at heart, earthy and complex. Opens slowly. Needed about 6 hours to really sing, but then it was La Donna e Mobile. A Super Tuscan value. BTW, no rush to consume. If properly cellared this has at least a half decade of good drinking left.

≈55 min decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then capped; NO visible sediment; Private Preserve after Day 1
N: FRAGRANT melding of plums, blk cherries, & pyrazines with hints of smoke, the blk cherries being SLIGHTLY on top
P: Med body; Rndish entry with NICE, almost swtish frt met by a zesty acidity which seamlessly, slowly transitions into a LONG, balanced, TANGY/swt (60:40) finish with VERY mild, almost non-existent tannins. A very nice match for various take outs from the Spaghetti Factory: CHX Parmigiana, Spaghetti/Marinara (Take Out), & Spaghetti Mizithra. An impressive bottle which, while not going to improve, SHOULD hold through '24 -- & that's with < ideal storage. My EXC, & *solidly* so! 🙂

There is plenty of Sangiovese character here. Farven er flot klar mørkerød/granatrød
Duften er virkelig flot: Toner af, moden/unge kirsebær, lidt tranbær, lidt violer, røde friske blomster, lidt røg/bål/læder/frisk tobak/vådt jern. Friske frugt toner, men også toner af noget mere moden frugt.
Smagen er god som duften, frisk/frugtig/frugtrig/saftig Sangiovese Juice. Frisk og moden, Kirsebær, skovbær, lidt grønne krydderurter, små lette toner af lidt mokka og lyse lette trætoner, lyse lakrids toner.
Syren er saftig og opløftende. Tannin af grønt te/grønne stilke, grønne oliven.

The smell is fruity with an earthy and mushroom touch, making it rather rustic. Tasting reveals the same characteristics and shows a good balance with nicely integrated tannins, a good vinous quality and pleasant acidity. Bright red fruit comes through after the initial dark berries flavours, giving it a certain freshness. Herbal notes and pepper emerge towards the finish, which, honestly, could have been longer. In summary this is very good, but is just missing a bit of depth for excellence.

P: LM body; Rndish entry with nice, almost swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which SLOWLY, fairly seamlessly makes its way into & through the LONG, balanced finish with ULT a tangy/swt, licorice inflection to the FEW, inoffensively firming, very, VERY fine tannins. Went a bit better with the IT Sausages than the COSTCO Ravioli(Spin/Ricotta)/Marinara, but worked with both -- & could have handled sturdier fare. Nonetheless, I *don't* see this improving & probably should be consumed over the next 2 yrs.™ 14% ABV; My EXC-, but solidly so. [As of late Nov '20, wine-searcher shows no sources for this vintage].
Also tasted on 10/21 & 12/16/2017; 1/27, 3/31, & 11/3/18; and 4/2/20.
™Granted, this bottle had < "ideal" storage, so may well have matured quickly.
