Case recently arrived ex chateau - 1st bottle. Initial opening, very acidic, and I was concerned that it wasn’t ready. However, with dinner after a 2.5 hour decant, the sharp acidity was controlled and the wine was really good with leather, damson and strawberry flavours. The tannins are there, but not intrusively so. There’s a reasonable length of around 20 secs and by the time we finished eating at 3 hours post opening it was drinking beautifully with great fruit flavours. It’s ready given the right preparation and has plenty of good years left. At the price I have just paid, £210 IB, it’s a bargain. Get some in.

I had this at a walk around tasting so no detailed notes, but it was the wine to which I kept returning when my glass was empty. Good fruit and acid, tannins evident but in the background. Drinking well now but I would hold it longer if it were in my cellar as the structure is there. Well priced too.

Short decant thru Rabbit. Somewhat lacking in fruit; tannicly cheek drying. A lovely aftertaste…. And increasingly moorish as the night continues. But a touch young. Will be better with food. Try again in 2025 First of a case of 12.

Decent but entirely unexciting (not to say, boring) Bordeaux.
Rather dumb to be honest, with the 14.5 alcohol providing a lot of heat on the palate.
At 10 or 12 EUR this would be at its place; the real price was 32 EUR and that is a bad joke indeed.
