Color: Deep Ruby. Aromatic Intensity: M+. Sweetness: Dry. Acidity: M+. Tannin Level: High. Tannin Nature: Ripe, chalky. Alcohol: H (14.0%). Body: Full. Flavor Intensity: M+. Aroma & Flavor Characteristics: Blackberry, black cherry, black plum, licorice, sharpened pencil, garrigue, charred wood, baking spice, espresso grounds. Fruit is concentrated and ripe. Other Observations: Finish: M+. Quality: Very Good. The fruit concentration, tannin, and alcohol are in balance, with the medium(+) acid adding vibrancy to what otherwise would be a “heavy” wine. If the intensity and finish were longer, or there were a little more complexity of flavors, this wine would be outstanding. Aging: Suitable for aging. There is a lot of concentrated black fruit that can transition into tertiary flavors and aromas, adding complexity. The tannins would also benefit from softening further. The medium(+) acid and high tannins, along with the high alcohol, will ensure the wine is well-preserved as it slowly ages.

Medium bodied and soft textured with a fruity charm, this wine has licorice, fresh red fruit and a touch of oak in the finish. 87-89 Pts
