In appearance, lustrous garnet. Aromas of creamy oak, licorice, bright red fruits, earthy minerals. Rich, spicy and full on the palate, with winter fruit-cake flavours, plus dark plum, blackberry, chocolate. Good acidity, too; impressively fresh and vigorous for its age. Drinking very well. Shows the quality Fronsac can produce.

Very youthful dark garnet color. Nose of fresh green bell pepper, delicate red berries, chalky/saline mineral, and moldy earth on the back end. Seamless palate of soft red fruits, cassis, pomegranate, leather, and smoke. Drinking well.

Gourmet dinner #2 (Allred's home): Another bottle opened by Allred after dinner. My favorite of the after dinner wines. Ruby red color. Some bricking on the rim. Creamy red fruit on the nose. Well rounded with meaty notes and roasted mushroom. Silky finish on the right bank wine. 90 points.

Notes of red currant, cedar and dried flowers with that nice earthy Bordeaux funk undertone. A touch thin on the palate, but has a decent bit of red fruit left, lifted by the acidity.

Raisiny pruny fruit with leather, vanilla, licorice.and a sour tannic finish. Not bad for its age, but would have been better a few years ago.
