  • 13% alcohol. The long cork is soaked a good quarter of the way on average, much more in spots along the sides; abundant deposits. The colour is medium with significant thinning and some bricking at the rim.
The nose is attractive with interesting tertiary aromas of leather and a pleasant leafy component; hardly any fruit left. The mouth has good energy but it comes across as fairly high-pitched; good grip.
I enjoyed this bottle a lot more than I expected, and a good deal more than the 2000 that I had a year or two ago. Still, this is no match for the Talbot 2001 that I had yesterday, but that is not surprising.
PS: in pretty good shape the next day, with slightly enhanced intensity in fact. A vg Bordeaux in fairness.

  • Unfortunately, the cork had either failed or was close to it. Decided to decant it and try it anyhow. Enormous nose; we could smell it across the room as soon as it was in the decanter. Dark fruits and some raisins on the nose. Dark red in color, a hint of brown at the edge. Great mouthfeel. Warm, full bodied and complex. Solid finish. Very, very pleased with this one. Only wish I had more!

  • bought this for 25 $ and did`nt really expect a lot from it, but was gladly surprised. decanted it for 2 hours and drank it over 4 hours.

color: light red with copper on the edge.
nose: a kind of barnyard cow poo cowered earth note and sweaty socks with I find as a nice note, strawberry and vanilla and also some truffles.
palate: strawberry fruit notes and blackcurrant, minerals and also a slight hint of the sweaty socks, asian spice cinnamon and licorice in the mid palate, I got this nice kind of bubblegum note at the finish it was really enjoyable. body was light to medium with a 35+ sec finish and nice well integreded soft tannins.

overall this was well worth the 25$ and I`ll happily pay more than that for a good 10 year old wine.
