  • Fascinating nose that seems dominated by Pinot character, with lots of berry fruit, creaminess, and yeast. The palate is very big, really pushing the limits for me, but it has tons of energy and a fine acidic lift to complement the honeyed flavors. The Chardonnay makes its presence known here with a firm, chalky coating to the entire mouth. Very impressive finish as well; I never took another sip when I couldn't still taste the previous one. Not sure if this is exactly my style of Champagne, but it was very fun to drink.

  • Dinner at Vinci (Vinci - Chicago, IL): Aromatic nose of white fruits and yeast. Full bodied on the palate --- a meal in the glass! --- and well balanced by an acidic edge. Nice interplay of bready notes, apples and citrus fruit. Excellent bubbly.
