This Amarone was fantastic. After 10 years it really rounded out, excellent nose with some raisen, leather, black cherry, smoke. A very enjoyable wine with pasta.

Raisin and dried cherry aromas with vanilla, earth and baking spice accents. Same dried fruit flavors with hints of cloves, licorice and tobacco. Minerals and dried herbs on the chewy finish. Just lacking a bit of boldness, but still solid.

Dry. Med acidity. Med- tannins. Med body. Med- finish.
Medium Garnet red. Medium tears. Medium intensity nose of plums, wood, hint of smoke. Palate medium bodied with fine grained tannins. Black cherry flavours present but overall not much fruit, more spice, dark chocolate/mocha. Finish is good lengthed.
Was expecting something bolder and richer. Entry level amarone. Their 2012 ripasso was better and better for the money.

Plain Jane is the best way to explain. Wasn't bad, but nothing stood out. Strong date, prune, and plum flavors, with a very smooth finish. Wish there was more to say, but the Tagliatelle was the star! Best I've ever had!!
