Holy cow this stuff is terrific. Forget the $30 QPR price tag, this is just irresistible bubbly. A little toasty-briochey, a little fruit with white cherries and lime, some earthy-minerally-chalky tones, fresh and zesty, pitch perfect dosage, terrific attack, excellent grip and midpalate punch, and a clean pleasing finish. Half Chardonnay, half Pinot Noir, and you can see both. On the drier, light’n’bright, food-friendly (a great match with cucumbers drizzled in salt and olive oil), racey side of things, but generous enough to enjoy solo. Sure, this is straight forward and lacks profundity, but the bottle vanishes effortlessly and we all want more. 92+ pts.

The wine pours a brilliant pale golden-yellow color with a spectacular bead of compact streamers. It show white peach, yellow apple, lemon cream, brioche, and a bit of hazelnut aromas. On the palate it’s dry, medium-bodied and expressive with a delicate mousse and ripening (mostly ripe, but with bits of tart under ripeness) peach, white peach, golden raspberry flavors with very energetic lemony acidity and an appealing chalky minerality.

Fairly one-dimensional but enjoyable. Had chilled and at room temp and was fine either way.

Deep yellow. Honeydew and lemon curd on the nose. Tart and simple finish.

Monthly Wine Group: Bordeaux 2005 and Older (Lela, Bloomington MN): No notes. Small pour. Pretty good, citrus, crisp, and a good value.
