Didn’t really vibe with this one too much. A nose of raspberry syrup, crushed blueberry, Mediterranean herb and spice lead to a palate that is packed and direct up front, but tapers off beautifully to a finish that’s clean and long with notes of olives and flowers. Full bodied, a bit rich and alcoholic for me. Clearly Cali. Drink now. 51% Syrah 31% Grenache 14% Mourvedre & 4% Counoise from a myriad of Paso vineyards aged in 1500 gallon upright oak casks.

Watch the aging chart from Tablas ... this is such a wonderful wine and so glad I let it sit in the cellar for 4 years ... subtle flavors of spice, you can tell there is Syrah but not overwhelming. Cannot wait to try the 2016 which broke the draught

This 2015 Patelin is so unusual in that it is the wineries "restaurant wine" and their lowest priced red meant for easy quick consumption and most are ok in value but this vintage improved with age and got richer and deeper unlike earlier vintages that simply faded to no flavor after a couple years. Red cherry and strawberry with some spice to round it out. Drink now

2nd glass better than first. Decanted for 2.5 hrs. Our decanter is fairly compact. Very approachable yet nuanced. Finish lingers in a pleasant rounded way.
