  • Very Good++
    I may be underrating this screwcap wonder. The profile fits the varietal composition with Syrah clearly in the lead (52%) and Grenache (31%) still showing some zest. What a nice wine, only hinting at its age. Integrated. Tannins are soft. Well done.

  • Decanted for 30 minutes and continued to improve with more air. A very pleasant Rhone blend that showed its Syrah-heavy (52%) nature with dark fruited aromas and blackberry, black cherry, spice, and a good dose of pepper on the medium bodied palate. The acidity was nicely balancing and there was a touch of tannin on the finish. Will certainly hold for several years.

  • On opening bright, tart, and a little unyielding. with air, the wine opened very nicely, showing flesh and balance, while retaining a structured countenance. While this is approachable with time in a decanter, i will cellar my final bottle for 5 more years. 88+

  • Rusty red with a brown edge. Old barrel spice, aged cherries, and cola nose. Medium bodied, dried cranberries, sharp cherries, soft dusty tannins, smoke, good acid, and a long, leathery, red-fruited finish. Smooth and tasty.

  • This really is a wonderful wine! Grippy and focused, with a very clear Syrah personality. Beautiful perfume of blackberries, violet and game. In the mouth, not opulent, quite tannic, but clean, clear and direct. The Mouvedre expresses itself with a touch of game. Really fine wine, especially considering it's an entry-level bottling. I like this as music as the whole Patelin de Tablas...
