  • Pale red. Tasting this for the first time in three years and it hasn't changed much; while the aromatics have perhaps developed a bit, the texture, though elegant, remains tight and unready. On the nose this smells very classic and almost old-school with aromas of dried red cherry, kirsch, dried red flowers, cigar box, sous bois and spice. On the palate it is medium bodied but expansive with medium+ acidity and very fine, regal tannins that coat every inch of the mouth. There's pretty flavors of red fruit and autumnal leaves that peak around the corners of the tannins, but I'd think this would benefit from at least another two to three years of rest.

  • An enjoyable bottle shared with EN over dinner at Helene Darroze at the Connaught. It had a pretty nose. Still rather primary, but quite attractive nonetheless, with notes of sour cherries and red berries garlanded with spice and violet accents. Quite classic Volnay on that front. The palate had a nice shape to it, with fine tannins that still gave a bit of chew, and plenty of bright, juicy 2014 acidity. It was just a little tight at first, but opened up in the decanter through the evening to reveal charming flavours of darker cherries leading into a bright finish with a bit of minerality on it. I liked the purity on the wine, but did think that it felt a little thinner right at the very end. Overall - elegant, food-friendly and very pleasant to drink. This was a pretty good bottle, but several steps shy of being anything special.

  • Pale red. With a bit of air this is open, though primary, with pretty, airy aromas of redcurrant, just ripe red cherry, rosemary, oak spice and plenty of crushed rock minerality. Light to medium bodied on the palate with medium+ acidity and very fine, tight tannins. This could use some time but drinks well now for those who like their Burgundy on the younger side.

  • tasted at the Domaine with Etienne.
--only in bottle for 10 days at this point--
There is both red and black fruit noticeable here, as well as a bit of forest floor. very tannic and I suspect that to be the recent bottling. This needs multiple years to integrate, but the raw materials are here for a very pleasant wine over time.

  • Quatuor inédit en Côte de Beaune - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Tonnellerie Damy - Meursault): Tasting, brief note. Very reduced aromas now. Red cherry flavors with good length. Seems good+ for its level, but reduction is in the way right now.
