Let the holidays begin! Upon uncorking, on the nose there’s an immediate whiff of black pepper, roasted vegetables that morphs into earth and terroir with red dark fruit and cherries. With some more time, the nose begins to integrate together nicely after its opening sneak preview.
On the palette, it’s deep and rich with lots of black and bell peppers with a medium finish. The Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah combo is lovely and vibrant from this excellent 2015 vintage. Tannins are mellowing and still young. I’ve had Coudoulet many times in the past and always love it at around the 10 year mark. This one is no different and in fact feels more fresh than past vintages I’ve tasted. Always a great enjoyment and experience from Famille Perrin.

A crowd pleaser. Very enjoyable, smooth, easy to drink. But also a bit bland: lacking a wow-factor or some personality

In a really good place, drinking very smoothly, nice dark berry fruit and spice. Medium body, medium finish. Will go longer though
