This has concentrated, spicy, dark fruit, a firm structure and good length. We tasted this alongside the remains of yesterday’s Guigal’s Côtes du Rhône 2019 and this was definitely a step up. Will keep well and improve.

Still pretty astringent straight from the bottle but a couple of hours of air sorts it out. Quite intense black fruit - black cherry, blackberry, plum - and some oak on nose and the relatively savoury palate; it has lost its initial sweetness of fruit. It’s well balanced, full-bodied and hearty with high tannins.

7th of a case. Tannins are still a bit overpowering and it lacks freshness of fruit, but it works well with food and should hold easily for a few more years.

Supple, spicy and elegant. Still surprisingly fresh. Pure red fruit, warm and ripe but not baked. Great value

A dark colour, still young-looking; rich, spicy, brambly fruit, quite intense and on the young side. Should soften up well over the next 2 or 3 years.
