  • Tasted after 45 minutes of air. Savory spicey red cherry fruit. Firm acidity provides excellent balance. Very smooth. Medium plus on the finish. Outstanding

This has stood the test of time just like our 27th anniversary

  • I'm not sure why the low CT rating. This bottle is a great vintage find; honestly, enough merlot fruit to keep it going another 5 years. I'm not so sure what the cab franc will do, but it's integrated, fruity, with a little bit of a grip. Would have been 95, but it's a little "messy" if that make any sense. Regardless, give this guy a good 30-to-hour to really show everything. It was great for a chilly (chili) day.

Review #2 - This is a hidden gem that is absolutely singing right now. If you find ‘em, buy ‘em. And drink it now. Probably less than a year left.

  • By the bottle at Contento in NYC; in killer shape right now. Beautiful Bordeaux nose of ripe cherries, graphite, gravel, forest floor. Palate is perfectly ripe plums, hints of cocoa, grape leaf, mushroomy umami with a slight menthol note on the finish. Complex, juicy, ripe and long finish. Really fantastic right now. Last bottle at Contento though sorry : )

  • Extraordinary bottle. Has the nose of a middle-aged Pauillac with notes of lead pencil, spice box, black currant and beautiful Cab Franc herb. Finish is a minute long. The mouthfeel is that of a very elite wine with the world’s best provenance.
Showing no signs of age whatsoever, I will be looking for more of this. Shhhhh. Enjoyed the 1997 a couple of weeks ago and it was a grand old doll, but a bit past prime, so I was very pleasantly surprised with this 1995!

  • Bdx varietal tasting - spices, still nice fruit, celery seed and dusty cellar. Show great maturity, balance and structure. In a great place.
