Opened at the Family Christmas celebration to accompany prime rib. Dark purple color. Nose of cassis, blackberry, currant, pencil lead, stone. Huge on the palate with a wall of pure blackberry and black currant fruit cut with some mocha notes. Surprisingly fresh, with moderate acidity and smoothed tannin amidst significant structure. Longer finish of black fruit and spices. I could only drink a bit of this due to the higher alcohol level. Impressive but not my thing.

Richly textured, coating the palate with dark fruit and abundant pencil lead. 63% Cabernet; 26% Merlot; 9% Cab Franc; 2% Petit Verdot. Aerated, no signs of sediment and full of flavor. Still drinking very well!

Still drinking well with plenty of powerful black cherry and plum. Tannins are still fairly firm, but in balance with good density.

Impressive, monolithic, alcoholic blackberry fruit. Exhibited more power than complexity.
