Took about 30 min of air to display pretty strawberry notes amidst earth, mushrooms and iron. Palate was light but still fresh with plenty of red fruit. This is on its way down but still lovely and drank well for 4hrs

on a night against dream opulent wines like SQN 17th Nail and 2 Quinteralli Amarones, the Armand Rousseau Charmes displayed surprising intensity and grandness to stand its ground. Nose of fine leather, earth, hat-thaw, sour plum and amazing array of mushrooms and truffles, vibrant acidity carried a very long and dynamic finish that kept changing in the mouth, last for minutes, work of a master. Probably at its peak now but seem to have a few more years of prime left.

Needs a touch of time ( not necessary to decant) in the glass to relax but post that this is an amazing wine from A to Z. The nose is still very much Pinot with light strawberry feel but it is not blended with a nice mix of earth, light mushroom. A magnificent nose true of the Burgundian myth. We kept on going back and back for this. On the palate it is very balanced and a picture of sheer elegance, still very much vibrant yet mellow, good fruit core and vitality. Magnificent wine and among the best wines we have tried 98

Deep, mature bouquet of horsiness and barnyard funk, its black-fruited palate rounded to a state of mature equilibrium, smooth but deeply sappy and slightly saline-tinged.
