Really nice. Bottle/cork in great shape. Still fairly vibrantly red with a little bricking. Very expressive nose -- runs the full "old Burgundy" gamut, really. Same can be said for the palate; most striking aspect is the vibrant acidity, which on its own makes it seem as though a well-stored bottle of this will show well over the next 5 or so years. Hard to "score", but if forced would put this in the low 90's somewhere.......

Very pretty and complex. Acidity is still there that gives a fresh feel to the old red fruit, earth and wood that dominate the palate. Drink in the near term.

Hudelot-Noellat Dinner with Charles Van Canneyt (Sepia - Chicago IL): Very alluring floral start with meaty spice and a good balance of black fruit and forest floor. Similar balance of fruit and earth on palate, also well spiced. Much better when first poured than 30 minutes later, going down hill quickly from around a "92 point" wine.

(Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Charmes-Chambertin) Bricking, murky brown red color with clear meniscus; a little port-like and prune on nose, and slight TCA; tangy, mature raspberry, cherry and soy palate, with a touch of TCA; medium-plus finish 91+ pts. (I rated this, even though the bottle was slightly flawed, as I found that the flavors and qualities of the palate were still very distinguishable. The TCA didn't continue to bloom either as the wine sat in the glass. I kept checking on it over about an hour.)
(Rousseau Armand Charmes-Chambertin) Medium ruby red. Quite a diffuse nose of high tones over a denser fruit base. There's certainly a nice burst of fruit on the mid-palate and the almost resolved tannins show good texture. Very nice, but I was left wanting given the grand cru status
