An approachable, fruity (but not overripe or overextracted) Malbec, with the earthy notes I associate with the grape playing only a subtle role. M acid, M to M- tannin, M body. Hard not to like this and it’s good with food (we had it with garlic Parmesan roasted asparagus and mushroom fettuccine), but nothing remarkable and only ok qpr at $26. ~6/10

Medium intensity of aromas with some tertiary aromas: red fruit; strawberry, plums, preserved cherry; white- and dark chocolate, graphite, vanilla, "buttered cinnamon" (MLF-aromas), spicy and very earthy.
Dry, medium+ body, medium+ acidity, medium+ (round) tannins, medium alcohol. Good balance. Medium intensity of flavours such as dried red fruit; cherry, plum; lots of spice, oak, cinnamon, charred wood, cloves, leather and chocolate. Very marked by spices and savouryness.
Long finish with a lasting oak bitterness, graphite, stony minerality. Like a more pumped-up rioja in style (with less oak-vanilla). Lots of spice, firm tannins and perky acidity makes it a great partner to food ("really needs a steak")!

Salty mineral on the nose. Coconut and French and leather and coffee notes Julieta. Want to showcase minerality without stripping the grapes of the character. Dark fruit, violet and non-organic minerality. Really structured.

Aiolos Tasting (Intercontinental Hotel): The wine shows density in the nose, soft and delicate though, ripe red fruit with cinnamon dominating the spice spectrum. In the palate, the wine shows more depth compared to Classico and Uco, its floral, with ripe red fruit, silky tannins, more elegant than any other wine called "Reserve", medium body and finish. (update 2020: I've changed my mind about this winery and what they are trying to achieve for the better, but I'm keeping the original tasting note for future reference. )
