Verhaltene, kühle, dunkelfruchtige Nase, mineralisch geprägt. Im Gaumen straff, eher schlank, dabei druckvoll, top Tannin, sehr gute Länge. Frisches, rotfruchtiges Finale. Ab sofort mit 15+ Jahren Reserven.

(at Gordon Ramsey - London, 375 ml). Another example of the brilliant 2016 vintage in Bordeaux. A plummy classic that is drinking really well today after a 90 minute decant. It’s all there - blackberry fruit, tobacco, some spice. Finish is complete. Not the most complex but so what - striking value. (91)

Phil's impromptu tasting fun (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. Blackcurrant tends to a little cassis, plummy underpin, sweet spice, cedar, mint. Juicy, fresh acidity, plentiful textured grip is a little chalky, fruit very present, black hued, lovely, long, balanced, yum.

Coravin fun - Belgrave & Brane Cantenac (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of jubey black fruits, sweet spice, brambles, blackcurrant, a slightly savoury underpin…pretty nose. Medium plus intensity acidity, dark hued fruits, a little leathery textured persistent tannins support the fruit long, sweet spice, slight non-intrusive alcohol warmth. Long. Lovely

Just an OK wine. For what it should be (classification and price), it misses complexity, character and length.
