10 year Tasting of 2005 Vintage (Bronte, Sydney): medium weight red. bright red fruits with a touch of blue. some violets and ink, very fragrant and fruit-driven. silky texture, rich red berry fruits, long finish and very fine ripe tannins. has softened, not especially huge, no obvious alcohol, ripe flavours and almost delicate. drinking beautifully.
This wine was awesome! Definitely has me second guessing my thoughts on Aussie Shiraz. A beautiful nose of smoky and savory meat, freshly crushed black fruits, and some lovely floral notes. Really a fresh and fantastic nose that had me smelling it over and over. The palate is the opposite of everything from Barossa, lithe and elegant with plenty of fruit, very well integrated tannin, fresh acidity, and a delicious finish. Fantastic with a well flavored steak or with pork. Hands down the best Aussie wine i've ever had and one I will definitely seek out in the future.
