Pnp. Very nice structure to this wine. Still having some grippy tannin, but after some air, they become more chalky. Pretty high acid. Notes of blackberries, black cherries, and a kiss of sweet vanilla. This isn't fruit forward by any means. There's an enjoyable earthiness to this wine too. Everything is in balance. For Napa, this is definitely one of the better QPR wines. I still think this has quite a bit of life remaining. Drink now - 2033. 92 points.

Tasted at a local wine shop that I frequent, with a small group led by Nicole from Moet Hennessy. Made from mountain fruit (Spring Mountain) as always. 14.5% labeled ABV. The wine is a nearly opaque medium to dark garnet with a crimson edge. Still quite young and less approachable now than other 2016 Napa Cabs I have had. This was NOT decanted, so my guess is this would be much better with 3+ hours in a decanter. The nose was rather fragrant and more forward than the palate with floral notes, baking spices, vanilla and a good bit of earthiness/sous bois. Palate showed some of those elements as well and some cassis and dried fig/prune. It has medium acidity and tannin and a medium to long finish. Pretty well balanced as far as I can tell. I'd love to have tried this after decanting, I think the wine was asleep and very shut down. My judgement in this case is tempered and preliminary, with hopes of getting another chance to try it in the future.

Black fruit and pretty good is the impression. Just opened. Maybe it will broaden out more.
