  Another delicious bottle of this wine from deep in the cellar it poured quite pale but clear cherry red with a touch of rust at the edge. The nose was immediately beautiful with strawberry, red cherry, redcurrant, rose and milk chocolate with touches of spice and earth. The palate was medium weight but very spherical in the mouth with those juicy fruit compote characters hinted at by the nose. There is excellent persistence of that fruit richness with plenty of very fine tannins giving a soft but definitive grip. A beautiful and distinctive New World pinot that remains vigorous 24 years on.

  Medium to full bodied wine with forward aromas of black cherry and anise (and another I can't identify - chocolate?). Fruit forward on the palete with cherry but not much sweetness. Still quite tannic with a solid backbone. Try again in 2003 or 2004, 1/01
  Bright ruby purple red color. Forward aroma of slightly spicy red cherry. Lovely round ripe red cherry fruit with a hint of cough drop. Nice. 93+ pts. 11/05
  YY Pinot Vertical - My #5, Group #4 - Light pink red. medium aroma of candied red fruit. A bit busty on second smell. Rich spicy mature slightly sour black cherry fruit with a long finish. 92 pts. 11/05
