First bottle of MM Pinot for this vintage and it’s not too bad at all. Prefer it to the Quintet, actually. Bouquet of red berries, herbs, forest floor and leather. Nothing forced, quite harmonious with good balance. Drinking well now.

56th TWIGS Meeting (KC and Molly's place): Served blind. Cork. 13% alc. Decanted and poured immediately. Aged appearance / bricking. It’s a bit stinky initially and then offers mint, old leather, cedar. Most of the table was thinking this may be a Cabernet based wine, but one taster (SP) confidently identified it as Pinot. The diminished fruit profile was typical of an aged wine. Acidity is good, tannins smooth, elegant and resolved. A good old bottle of this wine, but it's time to drink up.

Ha never been my favourite vintage of MM pinot and this bottle never really hit the great heights that the better MM pinots can. A little faded, perhaps tasting slightly stewed as well. Started to feel a little oxidised after some time with air so perhaps left this a little late to drink?

Less impressive than the previous bottles. More closed and the fruit never really shone over the 2 days it was consumed. Still seemed to have a good structure and nice texture but not quite as I was hoping. Just missing that lovely sappy, bright and soft red berries I had seen in other bottles.

Nice mid-weight pinot, with no harsh edges, drinking nicely.
